Unitil saw that outages caused by equipment failure presented the best opportunity to improve overall system reliability. They began a program targeting all of their 3 phase circuits in 2012 that is continuing through 2017. Reduction in SAIDI and CMI far exceeded Exacter’s estimate of 10%. Power Outages have decreased. Outages occurring at any of the problem locations could have resulted in over 1 million CMI each year.
